Dog License

Where to Apply:

Apply at the Town Clerks office during normal business hours.






New York State Law 

Dogs must be licensed at four months of age, or within thirty days of arriving in town or acquisition. Also, any dog less than 4 months of age, if running at large must be licensed.



  • Current rabies certificate
  • Proof of spaying/neutering if applicable






  • Spayed/neutered               $10.00         
  • Unspayed/unneutered        $20.00


           Late fee - additional $25

           Unlicensed penalty - $50


If a current 3-year rabies vaccination is provided when license is renewed, you have the option of purchasing a 3-year license. 

For 3 year licenses, the Town offers a $5 discount.  Please notify clerk when presenting your renewal paperwork.



Fees for 3 year licenses:


  • Spayed/neutered               $25.00         
  • Unspayed/unneutered        $55.00



All fees are non-refundable.

Licenses  from other municipalities, even if current, are not valid.

It is New York State Law for dogs and cats to have an up to date rabies vaccine, even if they are indoor pets!



Please read the Local Law and Ordinance for the Town of Lee below.

*Note* While there is no leash law in the Town of Lee, there ARE penalties for dogs running at large. 

'At large' means off the premises of the owner and ***not under the control of a competent person***, restrained within a motor vehicle, or housed in a veterinary hospital or kennel" 


Dogs at Lee Town Park are required to be on a leash at all times.
