As of 4/15/25:
We received notice that National Grid will be digging on side roads to the east of Turin Road starting in/near Turin Towne in the next week or two. Any further information, please contact National Grid.

 

 


 

Burn Ban


The annual state ban on outdoor burning begins on March 16th and extends through May 14th.

The burning of outdoor brush and debris is historically the single largest cause of wildfires in the state according to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.

Anyone who violates the state's open burning regulations will be subject to both criminal and civil enforcement actions, as well as a minimum fine of $500.00 on the first offense.

Per Kevin R. Monaghan, Oneida County Highway Superintendent’s Association:

Between November 1 and May 1, New York State and its municipalities (cities, counties, towns, and villages) are exempt from liability from pothole damage. 
During these months drivers are responsible for fixing road-inflicted damage themselves.

 



WAIVING FEES FOR DAMAGED BUILDINGS

NOTICE:

The Town Board and Codes and Zoning officers have approved to waive demolition and building/zoning fees for residents affected by the snow and ice.

A demo permit is required to have a building removed from your property's assessed value.
Come to the Town Hall - Wed. 6 pm to 8pm or Sat. 10am to Noon or call 315-336-1460.

Septic System Replacement Funds
September 19, 2024

 

Oneida County has been identified by New York State as being in a priority geographic area where there is need to reduce the impact of sewage effluent from cesspools and septic systems on groundwater and surface water. New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation has provided funding of $200,000 to Oneida County for the mitigation of properties located in priority areas. These properties will be eligible to receive septic system repair or replacement funding.

Have you ever had an item in your hand and asked yourself "Can I Recycle That?"

Although recycling is more commonplace today, it can feel confusing because we are inundated with so many different types of materials and packaging.
Additionally, different materials might be accepted for recycling based on where you live, if you have a recycling hauler, who that hauler is, and if special recycling instructions exist for the material.
