1) CALL TO ORDER; PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE at 7:05 pm.

3) CALL TO THE PUBLIC

Call to the Public is an opportunity for the public to address the Board concerning any subject relating to town affairs. Public comment is encouraged.


Staff from Mercy Flight spoke to the board regarding the inquiry from a competitor coming into the area. Mercy Flight has been in service since 1992 taking care of the air medical needs of the area as a non-profit entity. According the speakers, they state this competitor is a for profit entity, that sets up locations for landing and fueling helicopters. Location in Western is also being considered.


NOCCOG – reviewed current newsletter, advised Highway school will be June 5-7.


4) OLD BUSINESS
1) Troopers Barracks – flooring update.
Have agreed on rubber flooring, currently awaiting prices from other contractors.

2) Replacement windows for the Town Hall update.
Awaiting exact quotes.
3) Town Park restroom update.
75% done with the concession stand restroom.
Playground restroom has been cleaned.
4) Charter Communications update regarding cost share and AARP funds.
Nothing new to report.
5) Highway mower update.
Councilman Jones mm and Councilman Matt 2
nd, All in favor to the price from
Whites Farm Supply regarding the mower. Also agreed to renting a boom arm
when needed.
6) Town park sign update.
Councilman Finster is working with Victory. No other update available.
7) Inventory request, regarding water meters, update.
Supervisor Szyper stated the drive-by meter reading would be the best.
Will continue to review.


8) Special Board meeting, scheduled 3/28/2023, update.
a) Create Park department
b) mowing contracts
c) Town Park custodial contract
– requires Public meeting, Monday April 24
th and Public hearing for
Thursday April 25
th
d) Youth Program – No new update at this time.

9) Deputy Clerk position compensation.
No additional funds in the budget beyond $1,000.00 per year to cover for the Town Clerk. Scheduled a meeting for Tuesday April 18
th for additional discussion.
10) Replacing doors/panels at
the barn update.
Awaiting price quote.
11) R
ailing for court room stairs update.
Received prices from Raulli for center railing options, $1400/1800. Can not put
a Ramp in, ADA does not require access to bench, only access to the court room.
12) Town dinner update.
Will schedule in October
13)
Town Hall front door top latch is not catching. Top lock on stationary side is seized.
Councilman Jones will research other options and discuss with building
custodian Pete Maio.
14)
Town properties that are abandoned and/or condemned update.
Councilman Finster is creating a list and will discuss with Codes Officer on
violations.
15) Paving status for Pillmore Drive, Cemetery Road and Turin Towne
Councilman Mastrangelo has called Rome offices to advise on paving need.
Will continue to followup.
16) Leaf bags update (copy in packet)
Look into paper-bio bags.

2) Repair to the front door at the Town Hall update.
See above #13.
3) Chris Whitmore, Food Service Director from Rome City Schools, would like to bring
the summer lunch program to the To
wn Park.
Councilman Finster is working on the program details.

4) Credit card for Town Clerk purchases.
Many businesses are requiring paid when ordered. A credit card would save money for purchases from Amazon, Walmart, etc. Will check with Deputy
Supervisor E. Urtz.




6) ANNOUNCEMENTS

Highway Superintendent Baker:
-Keith Gawarecki - to take CDL Class in German Flats, NY – cost $425.00, inquired on signing contract.
-MSHAW training for gravel beds on 4/12 and PESH/OSHA sexual harassment/work place
violence training.
-rolling grounds at town park to began on 4/12.
-additional debris in leave bags will not be picked up, flyers are being left at residences.
-homeowner and/or contractor is responsible for “lot clearing” limbs, will not be picked up.
-Road paving will be Marsh Road, Gore Rd from Rome to Golly Rd, Converse Rd to Quaker
Hill Rd and Streun Rd (from Harris to Sulpher Springs, after culvert has been replaced).
-CHIPS has been increased.

Supervisor Josh Szyper:
-need study for request of 4-way stop signs at intersection of Gore and Golly roads. Highway
Superintendent Baker will research.

7) BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS

Councilman Mastrangelo:

-Lee Center Cemetery has three trees that need to be removed. Looking into issue of soft
ground. Mower marks on stones from last year need to be addressed. Councilman Urtz
suggested to check with Warren Brement to take care of trees.
