The regular meeting of the Lee Town Board was held in the Town Hall, and was called to order at 7:30 p.m.

 

Present were: Supervisor John Urtz, Councilmen Karl Matt, Alan Trombley, Kevin Gallagher, and interim councilman Josh Szyper.

 

Also Present: Highway Superintendent Bill Baker and Town Attorney David Rapke.

 

The meeting opened with the pledge of allegiance.

 

A motion was made by Alan Trombley, seconded by Kevin Gallagher and carried to dispense with the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting.

Old Business

 

Water Contract:  Attorney Dave Rapke announced the City of Rome there was an approved contract which would expire at the end of 2015 which has not been signed, as the terms have not been established in writing.  It is said that a new contract will be written with Rome’s new administration in 2016.

 

Utica Mack has provided a quote for a 2017 Mack totaling $131,896 under NYS bid #1750.  A motion was made by Karl Matt, seconded by Alan Trombley and carried to approve.

New Business

 

A motion was made by Alan Trombley, seconded by Josh Szyper and carried to accept the following appointments as recommended by the:

Planning Board:

Dennis Sexton as Chairman and L. James Jones Jr. as Vice Chair for 1 year terms.

Zoning Board:

Paul Phister as Chairman and Ryckman Campbell as Vice Chair for 1 year terms.

  

Peter Lamonica has resigned from the PB and Mark Rabe has resigned from the ZB; applicants are being interviewed, recommendations are forthcoming.

Court Clerk Dawn Tartaglia will be retiring in 2016; the justices have submitted a recommendation to train Jacquelyn J. Gazaille to be her replacement.  A motion was made by Kevin Gallagher, seconded by John Urtz and carried to hire Mrs. Gazaille as clerk at $12 per hour - currently paid by voucher, to be paid on payroll as of 1/01/2016.

Court clerk Dawn Tartaglia submitted a letter of resignation to be effective 3/31/16; a motion was made by Alan Trombley, seconded by Josh Szyper and carried to table.

A quote was received from Lawrence Rieben & Sons, Inc. of Whitesboro for roof repair and installation of snow guards.  They have also recommended periodic snow removal from the roof.  A motion was made by Karl Matt, seconded by Alan Trombley and carried to accept the quoted prices of:

  • Town Hall                   $10,500
  • Trooper Barrack’s         $1,750

A motion was made by Kevin Gallagher, seconded by Josh Szyper and carried to use the services of Community Bank NA – which was formerly known as Oneida Savings Bank and currently used by the Town.

Highway Superintendent Bill Baker informed the Board the highway employees will be taking the OPP (one person plowing) course on 12/18/15 at the County Garage in Taberg.

 

At this time Kevin Gallagher was recognized for his years of service to the Town; he has chosen to retire as councilman and this is his last meeting.  Kevin was presented with a plaque and kind words from coworkers.

 

A motion was made by Alan Trombley, seconded by Kevin Gallagher and carried to approve and pay the bills.
