Special Meeting
The Town of Lee held a Special Meeting at Gone Coastal Restaurant, Lee-Taberg Rd. beginning at 6:00PM.
Present: Those persons connected with the administration of the Town of Lee, together with their guests. Approximately 55 in total attended.
During the social hour preceding the dinner, everyone had a chance to meet and to visit with the people present.
Dinner was buffet style at a total cost of $1540.00 Volunteer Planning & Zoning Boards were free of charge while the remainder of guests were charged $10 per plate, which contributed $350 to the total.
At 8:00 PM the formal meeting was called to order.
Supervisor John Urtz wanted to thank everyone for attending. He asked the volunteers to stand up and be recognized. This is the only opportunity that the town has to get together and say thank you for a job well done. The volunteers are the reason the Town of Lee is what it is.
Tonight we are honoring a volunteer who has volunteered his time to the town for over 30 years. He has served on the Planning Board and Zoning Board. The individual being honored tonight is Mr. Peter Maio. A plaque was presented to Mr. Maio for his years of dedication. He will be starting a new position this year with the Town on the Board of Assessment Review.
Mr. Maio thanked everyone for the recognition and many good people have given back to the town through the years. He noted that he started over 30 years ago with Erna Bauman.
Those present sang Happy Birthday to Sharon Merrill who has an upcoming birthday and also to Karl Matt who had a birthday that recently passed.
Jamo Jones recognized John Urtz for his 40 years of serving the Town.
A motion was made by Alan Trombley, seconded by Harold VanWagenen and carried to adjourn.
The meeting portion adjourned at 8:11 PM.
