The regular meeting of the Lee Town Board was held in the Town Hall, and was called to order at 7:30 PM.
Present were: Supervisor John Urtz, Councilmen Kevin Gallagher, Alan Trombley, and Karl Matt.
Also present: Highway Superintendant, Bill Baker and Town Attorney, David Rapke.
Unable to attend: Councilman Patrick Hetherington
The meeting opened with the pledge of allegiance.
A motion was made by Alan Trombley, seconded by Karl Matt and CARRIED to dispense with the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting.
Supervisor Urtz announced the public portion of the meeting.
Mr. Donald Gondek of 6500 Pillmore Drive spoke to the Board of his desire for the Town to create a dog run at the Lee Town Park. He is requesting a small area and possibly a larger one as well. Mr. Andy Lim of Pillmore Dr. had come to the Board a couple years ago requesting the same. Pictures were shown to the Board of a dog park in Amherst which also included a suggested map of where this could be located in the park, which is basically behind the Trooper Barracks. Supervisor Urtz asked Mr. Gondek to gather information on cost for fencing etc. and also more information on the whole process. It was also suggested Mr. Gondek present a petition to show the Board what the community interest would be.
Mr. Jim Page of 6042 Sleepy Hollow Rd. requests the Board contract with the Amish to clean up after the horses at the Lee Town Park; the Amish are currently contracted with Lee Little League to build the new batting cage.
Attorney David Rapke notified the Board that he has spoken to Alice King regarding the requested alterations to the proposed agreement with Time Warner Cable; some changes have been made, but is still incomplete at this time. A motion was made by Karl Matt, seconded by Alan Trombley and CARRIED to TABLE action on the proposed agreement. Mr. Rapke presented the Board some information from Carol McTague, Municipal Consultant, showing franchise fees based on the percentage of subscribers.
Supervisor Urtz announced that the Lee Town Park was vandalized; a proposal to clean & paint was awarded to Winterton Painting at a cost of $2612.
Councilman Kevin Gallagher updated those present on the progress of refurbishing the 2nd pavilion at the park. There will be some paving done; the contract was awarded to Wayne Paving Co., Inc. at a cost of $3997. Mr. Gallagher also purchased picnic tables. It is hoped the pavilion will be ready to use towards the end of July.
Board members commented on how nice the mowing looks at the Town Park.
Attorney David Rapke announced that the DEC approved the Flood Damage Prevention Local Law; this was filed with the Department of State and will also be sent to FEMA.
Highway Superintendant Bill Baker announced that the Type 3 modified binder done by Dolomite has been completed. Micro-paving has been completed. Millings will be done on upper Harris Rd next week.
A motion was made by Alan Trombley, seconded by Kevin Gallagher and CARRIED to approve and pay the bills.
