The Lee Town Board held a Special Meeting in the Lee Town Hall to canvass bids for mowing/landscaping the Lee Town Hall, Lee Town Park and Lee Trooper Barracks for a three (3) year period; 2013 - 2015.  These sealed bids were opened at the March 12th, 2013 Town Board meeting.

 

Present were:  Supervisor John Urtz, Councilmen Alan Trombley, Patrick Hetherington, Kevin Gallagher and Karl Matt.

 

Also present were representatives from Hillside Seasonal Services.

 

The meeting was called to order at 5:31 PM.

 

Two (2) sealed bids were received by:

 

  • Hillside Seasonal Services
    • Total quote for 3 year period - $74,400
    • Total quote for Town Hall only, 3 year period - $24,000

 

  • Wright's Lawncare
    • Total quote for 3 year period - $68,400
    • Total quote for Town Hall only, 3 year period - $11,400

 

Councilman Patrick Hetherington states that he contacted references from both bidders and results were positive.  All other requirements listed in the bid specifications were met by both bidders.

 

A motion was made by Patrick Hetherington to split the award based on cost to the Town, to contract Wright's Lawncare for the mowing/landscaping at the Town Hall for $3800 annually; to contract Hillside Seasonal Services for the mowing/landscaping of the Lee Town Park and Lee Trooper Barracks for $16,800 annually.  This motion was seconded by Kevin Gallagher, and CARRIED.

A motion was made by Karl Matt, seconded by Patrick Hetherington and CARRIED to adjourn.

 

The Special Meeting was adjourned at 5:55 PM.

 

 

 

 

Landscaping specifications for Lee Town Park, Trooper Barracks and Lee Town Hall

 

 

Dates of Contract: 

 

Three year contract (2013 through 2015) executed annually between April 15 and October 31

 

General Specifications

  1. Grass on athletic fields is not to exceed 2" prior to cutting with trimming done to match the cut grass
  2. Grass on all other areas is not to exceed 4" prior to cutting with trimming done to match the cut grass
  3. The entire area shall be mowed and trimmed within 48 hours of beginning
  4. Contractor is responsible for providing all equipment, personnel, insurance and expendables necessary to perform task
  5. Contractor has three (3) days to commence mowing after notification by Town Board
  6. Evergreen trees and decorative bushes to be trimmed once annually
  7. Mulch to renewed annually around flower beds and decorative bushes at Town Hall and Trooper Barracks
  8. Flower Beds at Town Hall and Trooper Barracks to be weeded as necessary to provide neat appearance

  1. All grass areas within Lee Town Park at RT 26 N
  2. All property at New York State Trooper barracks on RT 26 N
