The Lee Unity Seniors is a fraternal organization governed under by-laws approved by the Lee Town Board. This group is open to all residents of the Towns of Lee and Ava who are 55 years of age or older.

The group holds a business meeting at the Town Hall on the first Wednesday of each month at 1PM. Each meeting consists of opening remarks by the president, a reading of the previous month’s minutes, a treasurer’s report, reports by various chairpersons, and a coffee & donut get-together. Additional activities may include presentations by a guest speaker, trip sign-ups, and craft activities. A “dish-to-pass” luncheon is held at the Town Hall on the third Wednesday of each month at 12PM. In addition, the group holds a summer picnic in July and a Thanksgiving Luncheon in November.

Annual membership dues are currently $5.00 per person and are due in January of each year.

Each year the Town of Lee allocates a sum of money to be used to subsidize the cost of day time bus trips. The tour director will organize the trips, with the assistance of various tour companies, and will determine the subsidized and non-subsidized costs per trip. As stipulated by the Town Board, participation in these trips is open to all residents of the Towns of Lee and Ava. All persons 55 years of age or older are charged the subsidized cost which is determined on a trip-by-trip basis. Those persons under the age of 55 and those persons who are not residents of the Towns of Lee or Ava are charged the non-subsidized (actual) cost of each trip, based on space availability. The Town Board also stipulates that only day trips are to be considered in order to maximize affordability and participation by as many Seniors as possible. An annual Trip Guide is prepared by the Tour Director in the Spring of each year which provides trip descriptions, dates, costs, and additional sign-up information.
